The '55 Vapid Stanier: The Pre-Order Car and Its Garage
A two-tone fifties sedan, the Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach, and the bonus every early buyer gets - what Rockstar has said about the Vintage Vice City Pack.
Updated October 20, 2026: Corrected the pack's availability (all pre-orders and purchases before November 20) and added Rockstar's details on the Shore Court garage, which has a weapon locker and a stash for stolen goods. Removed claims that the Stanier is the only vehicle with storage and the garage the only property, which the Paradise Garage contradicts.

The '55 Vapid Stanier is the centrepiece of the Vintage Vice City Pack, the bonus Rockstar attaches to every pre-order and every purchase made before November 20, on either edition. It comes with somewhere to keep it: the Shore Court garage, near Ocean Beach.
Flash back to when the neon burned brightest with the Vintage Vice City Pack, featuring the timeless two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage alongside the world-famous Ocean Beach, decadent outfits and hairstyles for both Jason and Lucia, and an iconic weapon pattern that echoes the excess of the past.
What is in the pack
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| '55 Vapid Stanier sedan | Two-tone cream and yellow, fifties American full-size |
| Shore Court garage | A personal garage near Ocean Beach, with a weapon locker and a stash for stolen goods |
| Outfits for Jason and Lucia | 1980s styles, per Rockstar's GTA VI site |
| Hairstyles for both | Also 1980s |
| A weapon pattern | Based on Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt |
| Availability | All pre-orders and purchases before November 20, Standard or Ultimate |
The garage is the part worth noticing. It is not just storage: Rockstar gives the Shore Court garage a weapon locker and a stash for stolen goods - the same kind of features as the Ultimate Edition's Paradise Garage in Watson Bay - and it sits in a named Vice City neighbourhood, Ocean Beach, which the studio elsewhere describes as pastel art deco hotels and white sand.
Vapid, and the model year
Vapid is Grand Theft Auto's Ford analogue and one of the series' most-used marques. The Stanier nameplate has appeared since GTA IV, usually as an unremarkable saloon; a 1955 version is a different proposition entirely.
The design in the screenshots - wraparound windscreen, chrome tail fins, two-tone paint split along a side spear, wide whitewall-adjacent tyres - is mid-fifties American full-size. Rockstar has now named three vehicles by model year: a '55 Stanier, a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy and a '95 Grotti Cheetah.
| Vehicle | Year | Package |
|---|---|---|
| Vapid Stanier | 1955 | Vintage Vice City Pack (pre-orders and purchases before Nov 20) |
| Vapid Dominator Buggy | 1967 | Ultimate Edition |
| Grotti Cheetah | 1995 | Ultimate Edition |
Naming model years at all is new. Previous GTA games rarely dated their vehicles explicitly, and doing so here suggests the fleet spans eras deliberately rather than being uniformly contemporary.

The pack's period framing
Everything in the Vintage Vice City Pack points backwards. The car is fifties, the outfits and hairstyles are 1980s, the weapon pattern is based on Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt from the 2002 game, and Rockstar's own line is "flash back to when the neon burned brightest".
This is worth reading carefully, because it has generated a persistent misunderstanding. GTA VI is set in the present - Rockstar's Vice City copy opens "we're a long way from the '80s". The pack is nostalgic cosmetics inside a modern-day game, not a period mode.
There is no flashback mission, era-switching mechanic or period section confirmed for GTA VI. The Vintage Vice City Pack is a set of retro-styled cosmetic items, and Rockstar's phrasing about flashing back is marketing copy about aesthetics.

How it compares as an early-purchase bonus
Measured against the genre, this is a substantial bonus pack - a vehicle, a garage with a weapon locker and a stash, two characters' worth of clothing and hair, and a weapon skin. Measured against how long a GTA campaign runs, it is mostly cosmetic.
- None of it is story content, mission content or map area.
- The garage is the only functional item - storage for the car, a weapon locker, and a stash for stolen goods.
- It is identical across Standard and Ultimate, so it is not a reason to choose one edition over the other.
- It is not strictly a pre-order bonus: Rockstar extends it to all purchases made before November 20, which covers launch day itself.
That cut-off is the only genuinely time-sensitive thing about it. Rockstar has not said whether the pack becomes purchasable after November 20.
What is still unknown
- Whether the Vintage Vice City Pack will be sold separately after the November 20 cut-off.
- How large the Shore Court garage is, or how many vehicles it holds.
- Whether its stolen-goods stash works the same way as the Paradise Garage's fencing.
- Whether the Stanier is available in the base game in another form.
- Whether the weapon pattern applies to one weapon or several.
What a garage implies that a car does not
Every other item in the Vintage Vice City Pack is appearance. The garage is infrastructure, and it is the one piece of property every early buyer receives, whichever edition they choose. Ultimate buyers also get the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay with the Dominator Buggy.
| Question the garage raises | Status |
|---|---|
| Does it have a weapon locker? | Yes - stated by Rockstar |
| Can it store stolen goods? | Yes - Rockstar describes a stash for stolen goods |
| Do players without it have vehicle storage? | Never stated |
| How many vehicles does it hold? | Never stated |
| Can it be entered, or is it a menu? | Never stated |
Two answered questions and three open ones. The garage is the most functionally significant thing in the pack and still the least described.
The Stanier as a series nameplate
The Stanier has been Grand Theft Auto's ordinary sedan since GTA IV - the car that fills traffic, gets used as a taxi and never gets a second look. Turning it into a 1955 two-tone showpiece is a deliberate inversion.
- In GTA IV it was a Ford Crown Victoria analogue, common and unremarkable.
- In GTA V it appeared in civilian and police variants.
- A '55 version places it in the Fairlane and Crown Victoria era, which is where the nameplate's real-world reference actually starts.
- It is the only vehicle every early buyer gets, whichever edition they choose.
That last point is easy to overlook. Take-Two has not published pre-order figures - Strauss Zelnick called them 'unprecedented and astonishing' on the August earnings call, according to Variety, without giving numbers - but if early sales are anywhere near that description, the '55 Stanier will be one of the most widely owned vehicles in the game. When in the story it becomes available has not been stated.
Ocean Beach, and why the location was chosen
Rockstar places the Shore Court garage "alongside the world-famous Ocean Beach", which is the same neighbourhood the studio describes as "pastel art deco hotels and bright white sands" in its Vice City overview.
| Why that location makes sense | Reasoning |
|---|---|
| It is the most recognisable part of Vice City | The art deco beachfront is the setting's defining image |
| It suits a fifties car | Period styling in a period-styled district |
| It is presumably central | A starting garage in a remote area would be inconvenient |
| It is named in Rockstar's own city description | So it is a real district, not a bonus-only location |
The fourth row is the useful one. Ocean Beach appears in Rockstar's general Vice City description as well as in the pack, which confirms it is part of the base map rather than something the pre-order adds.
The Vintage Vice City Pack: a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, the Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach with a weapon locker and a stash for stolen goods, 1980s outfits and hairstyles for both protagonists, and a weapon pattern based on Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt.
No. The Vintage Vice City Pack comes with all pre-orders and all purchases made before November 20, on either the Standard or the Ultimate Edition.
No. Rockstar describes Vice City as 'a long way from the '80s'. The Vintage pack is retro-styled cosmetics in a present-day game.
Yes, briefly: it covers purchases made before November 20, and the game launches on November 19. Whether it will be sold separately after that has not been said.
Rockstar calls it the Shore Court garage and places it near Ocean Beach, a named Vice City neighbourhood.
