GTA 6 Weapons: The Three Rockstar Has Actually Named
The Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers and the Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 pistols - the only weapons Rockstar names, all in Ultimate Edition copy. What the Extended Look showed about combat, and where the long lists come from.
Updated October 20, 2026: Updated after the August 27 Extended Look, which showed cover combat, kill-cams and a slow-motion aiming meter, so statements that no weapon had been shown in use are gone. Added the Vintage Vice City Pack's Tommy Vercetti weapon pattern and the Shore Court garage's weapon locker, and merged two overlapping customisation sections.

Rockstar names three weapon models in Grand Theft Auto VI, all in the Ultimate Edition list on its VI site: the Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers, and personalised variants of the Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 pistols. The August 27 Extended Look showed gunfights in motion, but neither the footage nor any Rockstar text has added a weapons list - so the twenty- and thirty-item tables circulating elsewhere still have no official source.
| Weapon | Named where | Detail given |
|---|---|---|
| Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers | Ultimate Edition content | His and hers versions, sourced from the Vercetti Estate, palm-tree-etched grips, engraved detailing, high-performance scope |
| Girardi ES9 pistol | Ultimate Edition personalised variants | Jason's sidearm; a personalised engraved variant is included |
| Klose K17 pistol | Ultimate Edition personalised variants | Lucia's sidearm; a personalised engraved variant is included |
| A weapon pattern, not a weapon | Vintage Vice City Pack | Based on Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt; Rockstar's image shows it on an unnamed submachine gun |
The Vercetti references are the ones series fans will notice. Rockstar says the Morgan revolvers are 'sourced from the Vercetti Estate', and the Vintage Vice City Pack's weapon pattern is based on Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt - two nods to the protagonist of 2002's Vice City, both in product descriptions rather than trailers.
What the Extended Look showed about combat
The footage did not name any weapons, but it showed how they are used. As broken down by PC Gamer, TechRadar and GamesRadar, it includes:
- Gunfights fought from cover.
- Kill-cams.
- A slow-motion aiming mode with a meter, highlighting weak points in red and yellow. TechRadar calls it a 'focus meter'; Rockstar's own name for it has not been confirmed.
- Quick-time events that offer a choice of action.
None of that tells you how many weapons there are, how they are selected, or whether Jason and Lucia share an inventory.
What the naming convention tells you
GTA weapon manufacturers are recurring fictional brands. Hawk & Little is an established series name; Girardi and Klose are not, which suggests Rockstar has expanded the armoury's fictional supply chain rather than reusing it wholesale.
That is a small thing that carries a real implication: named manufacturers usually indicate a weapon family rather than a one-off, because the brand exists to be applied across several items.

What is visible in the press screenshots
Beyond the named three, the press library shows weapons without identifying them. It is worth separating what you can see from what you can name.
- An assault rifle carried by Jason at night, with a distinctive light-coloured furniture finish.
- A gold-finished pistol levelled across a convenience store counter in the robbery frame.
- A scoped long-barrelled revolver, matching the Morgan description.
- A patterned submachine gun on a car seat alongside cash.
- Two decorated semi-automatic pistols, matching the ES9 and K17 variants.
That is roughly five distinct silhouettes in still images. The Extended Look shows more weapons in use, but Rockstar has not named them, and any list naming dozens of guns is drawing on leaked material.
Weapon lists sourced from the 2022 leak - and now from the gameplay leaks of late August 2026 - are the most confidently wrong category of GTA VI content online. Leaked builds contain placeholder assets, cut items and internal test weapons, and leaked names are not confirmed names.
Customisation and character-specific sidearms
Every named weapon appears as a cosmetic variant - engraved, patterned, etched - and the Vintage Vice City Pack adds a pattern on its own. That is consistent enough to say something about how Rockstar is presenting weapons.
| What this supports | Confidence |
|---|---|
| Weapon finishes and patterns exist as cosmetics | High - four separate examples |
| Base versions of these weapons exist in the game | Strong - a variant implies an original |
| Jason and Lucia have distinct default sidearms | Moderate - the ES9 is Jason's, the K17 is Lucia's; the mechanic is unstated |
| There is a weapon customisation shop | No evidence |
| Attachments like the scope are player-fitted | No evidence - the scope is described as part of the item |
| Finishes are earned, bought or applied | No evidence for any of the three |
| How weapons are selected in play | Not described by Rockstar |
The sidearm row is more interesting than it looks. Distinct named pistols suggest weapons may be at least partly character-specific, which would be a departure from GTA V's common inventory. The Extended Look shows jobs meant for only one of the two protagonists, but nothing published says how their loadouts work - the inference still rests on two product descriptions.
If Rockstar sells you an engraved Girardi ES9, an unengraved Girardi ES9 almost certainly exists for everyone else.

The weapon locker
Two garages in Rockstar's bonus content come with weapon storage. The Ultimate Edition's '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy copy says it can be stored at the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, which "features a weapon locker, plus a secure place to deposit stolen goods to be fenced". The Vintage Vice City Pack - included with all pre-orders and purchases made before November 20 - adds the Shore Court personal garage near Ocean Beach, also with a weapon locker and a stash for stolen goods.
So a weapon locker is not an Ultimate-only idea: anyone who buys before November 20 gets one. It implies weapon storage separate from what you carry. How it works has not been described.
What is still unknown
- How many weapons are in the game.
- Whether weapons are shared between protagonists or character-specific.
- How weapons are selected - Rockstar has not described an inventory or weapon wheel.
- Whether attachments can be fitted by the player.
- Whether there is a gun shop, and what it is called.
- What the slow-motion aiming mode is officially called, and what fills or drains its meter.
- How the gunplay feels to play, which footage cannot answer.
Where the leaked weapon lists come from
In September 2022, roughly ninety clips from an internal development build were published without authorisation. Those clips, and files circulated alongside them, are the source of essentially every comprehensive GTA VI weapon list online. Further gameplay footage leaked in late August 2026; this site does not use either as a source.
| Why that source is unreliable | Detail |
|---|---|
| Age | The build predates the finished game by over four years |
| Two delays followed | Both attributed by Rockstar to additional work |
| Development builds carry placeholders | Assets present for testing are routinely cut |
| Internal names are not final names | Working labels frequently change before release |
| Loadouts in test scenes are arbitrary | Weapons appear because a developer spawned them |
None of that means the leaked weapons are absent from the finished game. It means their presence in a 2022 build is not evidence about a 2026 release, and lists presented as fact are asserting something their source cannot support.
What GTA V's armoury looked like, for scale
For a sense of what a plausible final count might be, GTA V shipped with roughly two dozen weapons in single-player at launch, across a small number of categories, and grew substantially through GTA Online updates afterwards.
- Melee, from fists through improvised objects to bladed weapons.
- Handguns, including a small number of variants.
- Submachine guns and machine pistols.
- Assault rifles and carbines.
- Shotguns, pump and semi-automatic.
- Sniper rifles.
- Heavy weapons - rockets, grenade launchers, a minigun.
- Thrown items - grenades, sticky bombs, molotovs.
GTA VI has three named weapon models. If it follows GTA V's shape, that is a small fraction of the eventual armoury - which is exactly why the gap gets filled with invention.
Unknown. Rockstar names three weapon models and has not published a count. The Extended Look shows gunfights but does not list weapons. Any complete list you see comes from leaked material.
The Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers and personalised variants of the Girardi ES9 and Klose K17 pistols - all listed as Ultimate Edition content on Rockstar's VI site.
The Extended Look shows cover combat, kill-cams and a slow-motion aiming mode with a meter that highlights weak points in red and yellow. TechRadar calls it a 'focus meter'; Rockstar has not confirmed a name.
Two. The Morgan revolvers are described as sourced from the Vercetti Estate, and the Vintage Vice City Pack includes a weapon pattern based on Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt.
Cosmetic variants and a weapon pattern exist as bonus content. No customisation system has been described.
They have different named sidearms in the edition material. Whether that reflects a mechanic has not been stated.

What Rockstar has shown in the 26-minute Extended Look and stated in writing about how GTA VI plays - kept separate from what is only reported, and from what is still unknown.

Heists in GTA 6: What the Extended Look Showed, and What It Didn't
Gas-station robberies, a getaway job for a bank robber and a pick-up that turns into a police raid are now in official footage. A GTA V-style heist system is not - here is what is shown, what is written, and what is only assumed.

Everything in the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition, Item by Item
Every item Rockstar lists for $20 more - six vehicles, a garage, weapons, clothing, two activities and five businesses whose availability wording is genuinely ambiguous.
